At Security Essen 2018 IEE unveiled the new generation of 3D Time-of-Flight (ToF) technology. The new ToF Sensor comes with a significant smaller and improved design, which further reduces installation and integration efforts. The device has a new firmware with enhanced data security capabilities, which complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that came into effect on 25 May, 2018. In addition, it provides novel technological features such as increased image resolution and reduced energy consumption.

Tailgate Detector (TDflexTM) and People Counter, designed and manufactured by IEE S.A., are based on the optical 3D ToF technology. Easily integrated into existing access control systems, TDflexTM sends a signal to lock or unlock the door depending on the presence of one or more persons. It provides an additional security layer in modern access control systems in buildings and thus prevents unauthorized access to highly secured areas such as data centers, banks and government buildings.

The People Counter, with its unique tracking and segmentation ability, offers an accuracy above 99.5% and can be used in various applications such as occupancy monitoring, wrong-way detection, flow monitoring and dwell time calculation. Multiple People Counter systems installed at different doorways generate precise input for building occupancy statistics, and can be used to support security or evacuation measures and demand-controlled ventilation (DCV).

“By leveraging our deep expertise in sensors, we offer innovative people and object sensing solutions for building security and management” states Paul Schockmel, Vice President of Strategy, Business Development and Marketing.
